The Drama Division of the Juilliard school auditions over 1,500 students each year and accepts 18. I am thrilled and very proud that Matthew Yifeng was accepted and will begin classes in September as a member of Group 58. Matthew was in my First Level Voice and Speech for Actors program.

He was an excellent student and made progress with his voice and speech and learned some of the technical tools that help actors with all kinds of texts from voice-overs, commercials, and audio books to heightened language. This foundation will serve him well as a first year student at Juilliard.

As their website says: “Actors come to Juilliard to strengthen their capacity for expression in both body and voice, to practice bringing vulnerability and empathy to their understanding of character and to develop an approach to storytelling that includes careful attention to text and engagement with the world.” Matthew will fit right in!!
